The Kashmir issue will be completely resolved if Pakistan vacates its occupied Kashmir (PoK), Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said in an interview with Chatham House, a British think tank on international relations, during his visit to the UK on Wednesday.
The Indian External Affairs Minister made the statement in response to a question from a viewer on the Kashmir issue. The question was, can Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi use his relationship with US President Donald Trump to resolve the Kashmir issue?
In response, Jaishankar said, we are moving on this issue step by step. In the first step, we abrogated Article 370 (of the Constitution), then in the second step was to establish economic growth and social justice in Kashmir, in the third step, we held assembly elections there and a large number of voters voted in those elections.
At one point he said, “We are waiting for the return of the stolen part of Kashmir, which is illegally occupied by Pakistan. When that happens, I can assure you that the Kashmir problem will be resolved.” Source: Economic Times.
