Russian President Vladimir Putin on a visit to China

On the morning of Thursday, May 16, Chinese President Xi Jinping met with visiting Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

During the meeting, Xi Jinping welcomed President Putin on a state visit to China. Xi warmly congratulated Putin and the Russian people for starting his fifth term as the new president of Russia recently. He said that the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia is the main issue in the development of relations between the two countries this year.
