‘Red Silk’ Premieres in China, Showcasing Sino-Russian Cultural Ties

The Sino-Russian co-produced film Red Silk will be released across China on Saturday, September 6. The film tells the story of two forces joining hands in the pursuit of justice.

At its Chinese premiere in Beijing on Thursday, organizers announced that the film had been shot in numerous locations, embodying the combined creativity of both nations. They described it as a key cultural project that fully reflects the potential of the “China-Russia Year of Culture” and represents the latest effort to strengthen film cooperation between the two countries.

Red Silk was first released in Russia on February 20, where it received wide acclaim. Audiences particularly praised its “gripping plot” and “dynamic action sequences.”

This year has already seen fruitful cooperation in cinema between China and Russia, deepening cultural exchanges between the two nations. In May, the China Film Festival 2025 was successfully held in Moscow, Kazan, and St. Petersburg. Meanwhile, the Russia Film Festival 2025 is currently underway in Beijing, Xining, and Lanzhou, running from September 1 to 12.
