Bangladesh Udichi Shilpi Group has organized human chain and protest rally across the country on Friday in protest against the recent comments on the national anthem.
Members of several cultural organizations, including Udichi, protested by singing the national anthem on the street in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka.
Abdullahil Aman Azmi, the son of former Amir Ghulam Azam of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, demanded a change in the national anthem of Bangladesh in a virtual press conference on Tuesday (September 3). He also termed changing the national anthem of Bangladesh as ‘best for the existence of freedom’. It was then that the recent controversy began.
Many citizens of the country started strongly protesting it on social media and Udichi announced the program of singing the national anthem in collective voices.
Speakers at the event said that no conspiracy will be tolerated over the national anthem of the country. They also promised to form a united front against all evil forces if such an attempt is made.
President of Udichi Professor Badiur Rahman said, ‘The liberation war of 71 years is our biggest pride. We will protest against any conspiracy against it. Our national anthem, national flag has been acquired in exchange for the blood and sacrifice of lakhs of martyrs.
“This glorious achievement cannot be tarnished in any way,” he saidWhenever we see any conspiracy against our liberation war, national flag and national anthem, we will protest.”
After the speech, the protestors together performed patriotic songs including the national anthem
