No aid yet in Gaza despite international pressure: UN

The United Nations says aid trucks have arrived at the Palestinian side of the Kerem Shalom crossing but no aid has been distributed yet.

The United Nations says aid trucks have arrived at the Palestinian side of the Kerem Shalom crossing but no aid has been distributed yet.

Israeli officials said 93 trucks carrying flour, baby food and medicine had entered Gaza on Tuesday.

But the United Nations said no aid had been distributed despite the trucks arriving at the Palestinian side of the Kerem Shalom crossing.

“The team waited for hours for Israeli permission to enter the area. Unfortunately, they were not able to bring the supplies to our warehouses,” said UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric.

Israel agreed on Sunday to allow “an initial amount of food” into Gaza, as international experts warned of a looming famine.
