Hon’ble Chief Adviser H.E. Professor Muhammad Yunus will pay an official working visit to Japan from 28-31 May 2025. During the visit, he will attend the Nikkei Forum: 30th Future of Asia, one of the most prestigious and influential platforms for political, economic, and academic leaders in the region. He will deliver the keynote address at the Forum in Tokyo, where he is expected to call upon Asia and its leaders to come together in a spirit of cooperation and shared responsibility to ensure a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable future for the next generations, at a time when the world is facing growing tensions, conflicts, and uncertainties.
During the visit, Hon’ble Chief Adviser will hold a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Japan, H.E. Mr. Shigeru Ishiba. During the meeting, the two leaders are expected to discuss bilateral issues of mutual interest. Around 7 MoUs are expected to be signed during the visit.
In recognition of his lifelong work on microcredit, social business, and the empowerment of the poor, Professor Yunus will be conferred an Honorary Doctorate Degree by Japan’s renowned Soka University. He will also deliver a special lecture at the university in the presence of students, academics, and dignitaries.
In addition, Professor Yunus will attend a Human Resources Seminar organized by the Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo, engage with Japanese business leaders and investors at a roundtable meeting co-hosted by JETRO. He will also hold meetings with important politicians, business leaders and dignitaries. Hon’ble Chief Adviser is also scheduled to give exclusive interviews to major Japanese media outlets including Nikkei, Nippon TV, NHK, and Asahi Shimbun.
The visit of the Hon’ble Chief Adviser to Japan is expected to add new momentum to the long-standing partnership between the two countries and take the bilateral relations to newer level.
