Iran is ready for a long-term war

A top Iranian security official told Qatar-based media outlet Al Jazeera that the country is preparing for a long-term war and that the scale of attacks against Israel will be increased.

The official, who did not want to be named, said, “We did not start this war, but we will decide when it will end.” He also claimed that the conflict is essentially a war led by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and will result in the collapse of the Israeli regime.

He stressed that “Iran is fighting to protect the security of its people.” At the same time, he said, referring to US President Donald Trump, “Trump should decide – does he want to waste American taxpayer money on Netanyahu’s war appetite?”

Earlier, three rounds of massive missile attacks were launched from Iran on Friday night and early Saturday morning. According to the Israeli military (IDF), about 200 missiles were fired in these attacks. However, Iranian media claimed that hundreds of missiles were fired in the first round of attacks on Friday night.

Iran said on Saturday that Israel had carried out military operations against it for the second day. This time, Israel targeted Iran’s vital infrastructure and economic sectors. The attack on the country’s South Pars gas field, which is one of Iran’s main energy production centers, caused a fire.
