Shenzhen Heyuan Halal Industry Exchange Tour 2026

The Shenzhen–Heyuan Halal Industry Exchange Tour 2026 officially commenced on the morning of the 27th, bringing together leaders of Hong Kong’s Muslim community for a two-day exchange program focused on halal industry development, cross-border cooperation, and cultural exchange between Hong Kong and Heyuan.

Organized by the DAB Yuen Long Branch and the DAB Ethnic Minorities Committee, the delegation assembled at Futian Port at 10:00 am, where the program was formally launched. The opening session began with a welcome speech delivered by Legislative Council Member and Chair of the DAB Ethnic Minorities Service Center, Hon. Vincent Cheng Wing-shun, MH, JP. In his remarks, Mr. Cheng highlighted the importance of strengthening halal industry standards, enhancing regional collaboration, and supporting the needs of Hong Kong’s diverse communities. He also emphasized the value of creating more opportunities for cooperation between Hong Kong and Mainland cities in the halal sector.

Immediately after the opening session, the delegation proceeded to Funfundei Food, the tour’s first official stop. A group photo was taken to commemorate the beginning of the exchange activities before the delegation continued to the Fanfandei R&D Center in the Futian Free Trade Zone. At the R&D center, delegates received a briefing on research capabilities and observed demonstrations of intelligent equipment relevant to halal production technologies. The visit gave participants a closer understanding of how innovation and technology can support halal food production and related services.

The delegates later enjoyed a halal lunch at ZFY Halal Restaurant and performed prayers at Maling Muslim Mosque in Shenzhen. These arrangements reflected the organizers’ attention to Muslim customs and the delegation’s cultural needs.

Later in the day, the delegation visited Wanlv Lake in Heyuan for an eco-friendly sightseeing experience curated to respect cultural sensitivities. During the visit, Mr. Jason highlighted the lake’s significance and explained its role in supplying drinking water to Hong Kong.

Delegates then visited a halal production facility operated by Fanfandei in Heyuan City, where they learned about workshop design, production capacity, and product development processes. The Fanfandei catering group arranged a briefing for the delegation and answered questions from members before hosting a halal-compliant dinner at its premises featuring a fully in-house, international-level buffet, with local government officials also in attendance.

After dinner, delegates checked in at the Great International Hotel, which was arranged in accordance with Muslim customs and offered five-star hospitality.

On the 28th morning, the delegation visited the Heyuan Dinosaur Museum, which is a part of the World Heritage and the Guinness Book. Delegation members have been witness of ten thousands egss of dinosours from tje anchient time.

After the museum visit delegates  returned to Hong Kong, with a halal lunch stop in Shenzhen ZFY again.

The exchange tour aims to deepen understanding of Heyuan’s potential in the halal industry, explore opportunities for cross-border trade, and build long-term partnerships that benefit both regions.

Almost all deligate members were happy and enjoyed the trip and written thanks message to Mr. Jason. The visits were not only enjoyable but also very meaningful. We gained valuable knowledge about the halal industry, local development, production facilities, and the opportunities for future cooperation. Your team’s hospitality made us feel very welcomed and respected throughout the trip.

Everything was of super star quality, and we are very happy and honoured to have been part of this memorable journey. We have shared wonderful moments together in China, and these memories will stay with us for a long time.
