Heavy rains kill 30 in Himachal, red alert issued

Himachal Pradesh, India, is in turmoil due to heavy rains. Till the time of filing the report, 30 people have died and 34 are missing, said DC Rana, Special Secretary, Disaster Management and Revenue Department of the province.

He said that the monsoon started in Himachal Pradesh on June 19. Since then, it has been raining continuously. On Wednesday alone, 10 people died in Mandi region.

Rana said that heavy rains on June 29 and 30 caused a lot of damage in the entire region. There were reports of sudden heavy rains and damage in many places.

According to media reports, roads have been blocked and power has been cut in many places.
