A global dialogue titled “China in Spring” was held in New York on Friday (March 14), organized by China Media Group (CMG). The event brought together experts and distinguished guests to discuss China’s development and the opportunities it offers to the world.
Shen Haixiong, Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and President of CMG, delivered a video address at the event. Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng also sent a video message. Chen Li, the Chinese Consul General in New York, along with several other distinguished guests, attended the event and delivered speeches.
The gathering marked the launch of a series of global dialogues under the theme “China in Spring: China’s Development, Global Opportunities.”
In his video address, Shen Haixiong said that China’s annual “Two Sessions” have once again attracted worldwide attention as an important window for understanding the country in the new era. During this year’s meetings, several key documents were adopted, including the outline of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan.
He noted that China’s strategy for high-quality development outlined in the plan effectively offers the world a new “list of opportunities.” During the Two Sessions, President Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of expanding high-level opening-up, actively exploring global markets, and further integrating with international economic cycles. This, Shen said, demonstrates China’s firm commitment to making its door of opening-up even wider in the future.
Shen also stated that CMG will leverage its world-class integrated media resources, its international communication network covering 85 languages, 192 overseas bureaus, and the CGTN media platform to present the achievements and benefits of Chinese modernization to the global audience. At the same time, China hopes to share the new opportunities created by its high-quality development with friends around the world.
During the event, invited guests from the investment and technology sectors exchanged views on the opportunities created by China’s technological innovation and high-quality development. Participants agreed that China’s innovative technologies in areas such as robotics, electric vehicles, and solar panels are among the world’s leading forces and will play an important role in driving future global technological progress.
They also noted that China’s comprehensive industrial chain and strong manufacturing capabilities have created broad opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation and two-way collaboration between China and countries around the world.
