Georgia Delegation Visits San Felice del Benaco for Courtesy Exchange on Science and Culture

SAN FELICE DEL BENACO, ITALY — October 17, 2025. A delegation from Georgia’s Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce visited San Felice del Benaco for a day of courtesy meetings and cultural stops centered on science, innovation, and community ties.

Hosted by MAGI Group, an Italian biomedical research center, and MAGISNAT, its U.S. affiliate based at Atlanta Tech Park in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, the visit highlighted ongoing dialogue around genetics, preventive medicine, and responsible innovation. Both organizations were founded by Dr. Matteo Bertelli, a San Felice native focused on cross-border knowledge sharing.

The delegation — led by Nick Masino, president and CEO of the Gwinnett Chamber — toured the MAGI Biomedical Research Center, where Italian researchers described current work in genomics, molecular diagnostics, and nutraceutical studies. The program emphasized informal discussion and professional networking.

Mayor Marzia Manovali welcomed the group on behalf of the town, noting San Felice’s heritage in olive oil and wine production and its tradition of cultural stewardship. The guests also visited the Rocca di Manerba del Garda archaeological area and museum, guided by Dr. Simone Don, Councilor Raffaella Bertini, and Dr. Carla Ghidinelli, for an overview of the region’s historical landscape.

The stop in San Felice followed meetings in northern Italy and was framed by organizers as a courtesy exchange. No announcements, agreements, or commitments were made. Participants described the day as a constructive opportunity to compare perspectives on science, business, and culture in an informal setting.
