Entry Fee of Botanical Garden Reduced on Adviser’s Initiative

Dhaka, September 12:Following directive from Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, the entry fee for the National Botanical Garden in Mirpur, Dhaka has been revised. The ministry issued a notification regarding this on Wednesday, September 11.

The entry fee for individuals above 12 years has been reduced from 100 taka to 30 taka. For children under 12, the previous fee was 50 taka. Now, the fee for children aged 6-12 has been set at 15 taka, while children aged 0-5 can enter for free.

For groups of up to 100 students from educational institutions, the entry fee has been set at 1,000 taka, and for groups of 101-200 students, it is 1,500 taka. Foreign tourists will be charged an entry fee of 500 taka or its equivalent US Dollars.

Additionally, an annual entry card for morning walks has been set at 500 taka per person. Cardholders can visit the garden from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM between November and March, and from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM between April and October. In case of loss or renewal of the card, a fee of 200 taka will be required for a new card. The notification, issued in the public interest, will take immediate effect.

It is worth noting that a prior notification issued on April 21, 2024, regarding the revised entry fee for the Botanical Garden had elicited public reactions. Taking this into account, the Advisor instructed the relevant authorities to reconsider and adjust the fees.
