Elon Musk’s Starship has broken up. The Starship lost contact with Earth within 10 minutes of launch and then caught fire. It was the second Starship to explode this year. The incident occurred on Thursday local time.
After the Starship caught fire, burning debris began to spread into the sky. As a result, air traffic in Florida and its surrounding areas was briefly closed.
Exactly two months ago, another Starship exploded in a similar way. This is being marked as the second failure for SpaceX, owned by billionaire Elon Musk, a close friend of US President Donald Trump. The 403-foot rocket was launched from Boca Chica, Texas at 6:30 pm local time (6:30 pm in India, 6:30 am in Bangladesh).
There were no problems in the first part of the launch. The booster successfully separated from the rocket and descended towards Earth. A crane caught it midway. But soon the rest of the Starship is spinning. Multiple engines are down.
At a live event for SpaceX, spokesman Dan Huot said, “Unfortunately, it’s the same thing that happened last time. We’re just practicing.” Elon Musk’s dream of flying in mid-ai.
