Hong Kong, December 16, 2025: Rotarian Dr. Fakhrul Islam Babu was honored with the AJHRAF International Excellence Award 2025 for his contributions to Social Service and the Protection of Human Rights in Hong Kong, China, and Bangladesh.
The award was presented at a Victory Day program organized by the Asian Journalists and Human Rights Activists Forum (AJHRAF), Bangladesh Chapter, on Tuesday (16 December 2025) at 5:00 pm at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel (Padma Hall), Dhaka. The program included a discussion session, an award presentation, the unveiling of a souvenir, and a cultural event.
The event was chaired by M.M. Iqbal (Alamgir), President of AJHRAF Bangladesh Chapter, and inaugurated by Syed Didar Bakht, former State Minister for Information and Culture. Justice Siddiqur Rahman Mia (Retd.), former Appellate Division Justice of the Bangladesh Supreme Court, attended as the Chief Guest. Special Guests included A.F.M. Solaiman Chowdhury, former Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration; Alhaj Nuruddin Ahmed, Director of NTV; Tasik Ahmed, Adviser (Program and Broadcast), ATN Bangla; and Professor Dr. Hamida Khanam, University of Dhaka. Journalist Lion Mithu Dhar Chowdhury conducted the program.
Organizers said the recognition was conferred in appreciation of Dr. Babu’s sustained work in humanitarian service and human-rights initiatives across communities in Bangladesh and abroad.
