On 3 March, a press conference was held ahead of the Fourth Session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). CPPCC spokesperson Liu Jieyi briefed domestic and international media on the key details of the upcoming session.
According to the spokesperson, in 2025 the CPPCC firmly supported the overall leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and earnestly implemented the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress and subsequent plenary sessions. Centering on the nation’s core tasks and overall strategic needs, the CPPCC provided high-quality advisory support for China’s high-quality development and modernization.
In 2025, the CPPCC focused on four major areas of work:
First, upholding CPC leadership in all aspects of its duties and maintaining a firm commitment to the correct political orientation.
Second, advancing the consultative system that underpins Chinese-style modernization while contributing to sound, scientific, and democratic decision-making.
Third, promoting reform and innovation in routine work and elevating the quality of political consultation.
Fourth, strengthening its capacity to fulfill its responsibilities and enhancing its effectiveness as a national consultative body.
