Chinese Premier Li Qiang has underscored the importance of deeper integration between artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced manufacturing industries, calling for stronger efforts to accelerate innovation in intelligent robotics.
During inspections of several science and technology enterprises in Beijing on Monday, Premier Li reviewed the latest developments in intelligent robotics research and its industrial applications. He also observed how domestically developed robots are being deployed in real-world scenarios across different sectors.
Li noted that intelligent robotics represents a key pathway for integrating AI with advanced manufacturing. He stressed the need to advance foundational research while achieving major breakthroughs in core technologies to ensure the sustainable development of the sector. He called for faster modernization of robot core structures, key components, and intelligent control systems.
The Premier highlighted China’s advantages in this field, including its vast domestic market, well-developed industrial chains, and diverse application scenarios. He urged full utilization of these strengths while also strengthening policy support to foster innovation and industrial upgrading.
Li further emphasized that enterprises remain the main driving force behind industrial transformation. He encouraged companies to integrate digital and intelligent technologies across the entire value chain—from product design and manufacturing to operations and after-sales services—and assured continued government support to facilitate this transition.
