The Boao Forum for Asia 2026, held in the opening year of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, has drawn significant international attention. Amid an increasingly complex and tense global landscape, China is emerging as a safer, more reliable and stable destination for development. The new Five-Year Plan provides a clear timetable and strategic roadmap to meet these expectations.

A global survey conducted by CGTN, a media outlet under China Media Group (CMG), highlights strong international confidence in China’s development trajectory. According to the findings, 94.9 percent of respondents believe that policy stability and continuity have become a key strength driving China’s high-quality development.

Through high-quality growth and expanded openness, China is enhancing economic efficiency while creating opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation. The 15th Five-Year Plan offers a new framework for practical global collaboration. The survey shows that 87.8 percent of respondents view China’s vast market as a significant opportunity for countries worldwide. Meanwhile, 91.2 percent believe that China’s continued commitment to high-level opening-up demonstrates its determination and capacity to safeguard economic globalization.

Technological innovation will remain a top priority throughout the plan period. Notably, 94.2 percent of respondents believe that technology in China has evolved beyond a standalone sector and is now deeply integrated across industries, including manufacturing and digital transformation. Additionally, 94.1 percent see technological self-reliance not as a short-term response to international competition, but as a long-term strategic choice.

From the successful completion of the 14th Five-Year Plan to the launch of the 15th, China continues to translate its long-term, consistent planning into tangible development outcomes. Around 93 percent of respondents consider China’s strategic planning approach a valuable model for ensuring development continuity, offering practical lessons for the international community.

In a world marked by uncertainty, China’s stability and cohesion are increasingly viewed as symbols of confidence. According to the survey, 89.8 percent of respondents believe that a healthy and sustainable Chinese economy will continue to contribute to global economic recovery.

The CGTN survey was conducted across its English, Spanish, French, Arabic and Russian platforms, gathering responses from 11,493 participants worldwide within just 24 hours.
