The Fourth Session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) concluded in Beijing on Wednesday, March 11. Wang Huning, Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, presided over the closing meeting, which was attended by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
During the session, Wang Huning stated that delegates carefully reviewed the government work report, the draft outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan, and several other key reports. The meeting also conducted a thorough examination of the work report of the CPPCC Standing Committee and the report on the handling of proposals submitted during the session.
Wang noted that 2026 marks the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the country is striving to advance Chinese-style modernization. He emphasized that the CPPCC, as an important political organization, should fully perform its role by strengthening its capacity for consultation and advisory functions, while fostering unity and consensus among the people.
Upholding the principle of serving the people, Wang said the CPPCC should offer more constructive policy suggestions and undertake more initiatives that benefit the public. He stressed the importance of ensuring that the achievements of modernization reach all citizens and of mobilizing the strong positive energy of Chinese people both at home and abroad, enabling them to move forward on a new journey and contribute to the development of a new era.
