On Tuesday morning, August 18, Chairman Zhao Leji of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China met with Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa in Beijing.
Zhao Leji said this year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Ecuador. China is willing to continue working with Ecuador to implement the important consensus reached by the two presidents, carry forward their traditional friendship, deepen practical cooperation, continuously elevate the level of bilateral relations and bring greater benefits to the peoples of both countries.
He said the National People’s Congress of China is willing to strengthen friendly exchanges with the Ecuadorian National Assembly at various levels and in different fields, deepen exchanges of experience in legislation, supervision and governance, and provide legal guarantees for practical cooperation between the two countries.
Noboa said Ecuador regards China as a good friend and partner, supports China in safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and is willing to further deepen cooperation with China in areas such as trade and investment, as well as strengthen mutual learning between legislative bodies.
