The 13th National Parliamentary Election in Bangladesh was held on Thursday, February 12. Out of 297 directly elected seats declared so far, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has won 209.
At a routine press briefing on Friday, a spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that China congratulates the Bangladesh Nationalist Party on its victory in a free, fair, and successful national election. As a long-standing friendly neighbor, China supports Bangladesh in advancing its domestic political agenda and is committed to deepening their traditional friendship.
The spokesperson added that Beijing looks forward to working with Dhaka to enhance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, strengthen practical collaboration across various sectors, and encourage the continued development of China-Bangladesh strategic cooperative partnership.
