C919 accelerates connectivity between the Greater Bay Area and the Yangtze Delta

A round-trip route operated by China’s domestically developed C919 passenger jet between Guangzhou, the capital of south China’s Guangdong Province, and Hefei, capital of east China’s Anhui Province, was officially launched on Sunday. With this, Hefei becomes the 23rd city in China to welcome the C919 into regular service. The inaugural flight, CZ3813, carrying 144 passengers, was greeted with a traditional “water salute” upon its arrival at Hefei Xinqiao International Airport, marking the ceremonial استقبال of the aircraft. China Southern Airlines, the country’s largest carrier, will deploy its C919 aircraft on this route, operating up to five round-trip flights per week, in anticipation of the peak travel season in May. At present, the airline operates a fleet of 10 C919 aircraft. As of Monday, its C919 fleet has completed more than 9,500 flights, transporting over 1.3 million passengers across 23 destinations.

The service network of the C919 continues to expand steadily, efficiently linking the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area with the Yangtze River Delta city cluster. This growing network is expected to inject new momentum into China’s regional connectivity and the development of its civil aviation sector. Source: CCTV (China Central Television)
