Bangladesh will become a trusted destination for both local and foreign investors, said Central Bank Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur.
He said, “The idea that foreign investors will just take our money and leave is a misconception.”
He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of Google Pay service at a hotel in the capital on Tuesday (June 24).
Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur said, “If foreign companies operate Chittagong Port for 10 to 20 years and then return it, we will benefit from the skills acquired and be able to operate ports in other countries.”
Citeing inflation control as a top priority, the Bangladesh Bank Governor said progress is being made and it is possible to bring inflation below five percent.
He added that efforts are continuing to maintain financial stability and ensure full protection of depositors.
The event also featured speeches by US Embassy Chargé d’Affaires in Dhaka Tracy Anne Jacobson, City Bank Vice Chairman Hossain Khaled, and Managing Director and CEO Mashrur Arefin.
