Bangladesh Reaffirms: No Foreign Interference in Internal Affairs

National Security Adviser Dr. Khalequzzaman Rahman has reiterated that Bangladesh firmly opposes any external interference in its internal matters and remains committed to preventing terrorism in all forms.

Speaking at the Colombo Security Conclave in New Delhi on Thursday, he highlighted Bangladesh’s clear stance on safeguarding national sovereignty and ensuring regional stability through cooperation.

Earlier on Wednesday, Dr. Rahman—also the High Representative on Rohingya Affairs—held a bilateral meeting with India’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval. During the meeting, both sides discussed security cooperation, counterterrorism efforts, border management, and regional stability. Dr. Rahman also extended an invitation to Ajit Doval to visit Bangladesh at a convenient time.

This marks the second visit to New Delhi by a Bangladeshi adviser since the interim government, led by Professor Muhammad Yunus, assumed office in August last year. The first visit was in February, when Energy Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan travelled to India to attend the India Energy Week.

The latest engagement is being viewed as an important step toward strengthening regional security frameworks and deepening mutual confidence between the two neighbouring countries.
