Bangladesh, Angola Explore Trade and Energy Cooperation at Dakar Forum

H.E. Ms. Shama Obaed Islam, Hon’ble State Minister for Foreign Affairs met H.E. Ambassador Esmeralda Bravo Conde da Silva Mendonça, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of Angola on the sidelines of the “Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security in Africa” held in Dakar, Senegal on 21 April 2026. They discussed avenues for enhanced cooperation in trade, business and investment, with particular emphasis on RMG, pharmaceuticals, jute and energy collaboration. They also underscored the importance of the early conclusion of an MoU on Foreign Office Consultations, and exchanged views on promoting women’s empowerment, democracy, peace and security. The State Minister and the Secretary of State further discussed mutual support for their respective candidatures in the United Nations and other international organizations.
