Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, welcomed the Foreign Minister of Indonesia, H.E. Sugiono, during his first official visit to the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta on 18 July 2025.
As part of his visit, H.E. Sugiono toured the ASEAN Secretariat premises, including the Heritage Building, and participated in a meet-and-greet session with the Permanent Representatives to ASEAN, the Ambassador of Timor-Leste to ASEAN, and other dedicated Ambassadors.
He also held a bilateral meeting with Dr. Kao, where they discussed key follow-up actions from the 46th ASEAN Summit and the recently concluded 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and related events.
As the host country of the ASEAN Secretariat, Indonesia plays a pivotal role in supporting ASEAN’s work. This visit reaffirms Indonesia’s enduring commitment to ASEAN’s institutional development and its vision for deeper regional integration under the ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future agenda.
