A two-member Bangladesh delegation is attending the inaugural ceremony of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two- State Solution being hosted on 30-31 October 2024 in a local hotel of Riyad city, KSA. Bangladesh delegation head extended gratitude to Saudi Arabia and the co- initiators of the Global Alliance for hosting this grand gathering and underlined the need to arrive at the commitment to a roadmap with concrete, and time-bound measures for a Two State Solution leading to a comprehensive and lasting peace in Palestine and the region.
The high-level event was inaugurated by His Highness, Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdul Aziz, Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and was attended by around 90 delegations from the OIC, the Arab League and UN member states. Dr. Nazrul Islam, Additional Foreign Secretary is leading the delegation while Md Shafiqur Rahman, DG West Asia, MoFA accompanied him during the event. The meeting is expected to hold a Senior Officials Meeting tomorrow to the adaptation of an outcome roadmap from the deliberations of the participant delegations.
