Saudi Arabia and Turkey have jointly called on Israel to withdraw without delay from all Syrian territories under its control. The appeal was issued in a joint statement released on Tuesday following high-level talks in Riyadh.
Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman held discussions with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who was on an official visit to the kingdom.
In their statement, both countries praised the Syrian government’s recent steps toward preserving territorial integrity and promoting domestic stability. They condemned Israel for violating Syria’s sovereignty and urged Tel Aviv to retreat from all internationally recognized Syrian lands.
The joint communiqué also underscored the need to restore peace in Sudan, Palestine, and Yemen. It reiterated calls for a full and immediate ceasefire in Gaza, demanding an end to Israeli attacks and occupation.
President Erdoğan and his delegation departed Riyadh on Wednesday. They were seen off at King Khalid International Airport by the Deputy Governor of the Riyadh region, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz.
Since 2024, Israel has expanded its military presence across the occupied Golan Heights and adjacent buffer zones in Syria, while seeking to consolidate control over parts of Syrian territory.
