Republican U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham has urged current and former American leaders to consider tough military action targeting Iran’s ruling leadership. He argues that such a move would energize ongoing anti-government protests inside Iran and could open the door to greater stability across the Middle East.
Speaking in an interview with Fox News, Graham said the core objective of any military strategy should be to boost the morale of protesters while instilling fear within the ruling establishment. In his words, direct action should be taken against those he accuses of repressing and killing their own people. He emphasized that putting an end to violence and repression has become an urgent necessity.
Graham further expressed optimism that, if such measures produce the intended outcome, the Middle East could witness a major geopolitical shift. According to him, state-sponsored terrorism would be curbed, and groups such as Hezbollah and Hamas would lose their influence. He also suggested that this could pave the way for improved relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the region.
The senator’s remarks have sparked renewed debate in diplomatic circles in Washington and across the Middle East, intensifying speculation over the future direction of U.S. policy toward Iran.
