Bangladesh Ends Junior Hockey World Cup on Thrilling High with Victory

Bangladesh concluded the Junior Hockey World Cup in Tamil Nadu, India, on a high note, securing a sensational win in the 17th-place playoff. The red-and-green team defeated Austria 5-4, claiming the Challenge Cup title.

Amirul Islam opened the scoring early and went on to complete three hat-tricks during the match, dominating play. Goals from Hojayfa Hossain and Rakibul Hasan further cemented the victory. Despite Austria scoring two late goals, Bangladesh held on to celebrate their triumph.

In the pool stage, Bangladesh lost 5-3 to Australia and 3-2 to France, while drawing 3-3 with South Korea. In the classification round, the team bounced back with commanding wins over Oman (13-0) and South Korea (5-3), finishing the tournament with 18 goals across six matches.

Amirul Islam emerged as the standout player, scoring five hat-tricks in six matches and delivering crucial goals that proved decisive in Bangladesh’s thrilling victories.
