China-North Korea Foreign Ministers Meet in Beijing

Beijing: Wang Yi, member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China and Chinese Foreign Minister, met with North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui in Beijing on Sunday.

During the meeting, Wang Yi highlighted that earlier this month, Chinese President Xi Jinping and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un held a historic summit. The two leaders achieved significant consensus, which Wang described as providing guidance for the development of China-North Korea relations. He stated, “It is our responsibility to implement the important consensus of the leaders of both parties and countries, promote the welfare of the two peoples, and jointly encourage regional peace and development.”

Choe Son-hui expressed North Korea’s intention to strengthen strategic communication with China, increase friendly exchanges, deepen practical cooperation, and elevate China-North Korea relations to a new and higher level.
