“Xinjiang to Embrace Greater Prosperity,” Says Chinese Government White Paper

Beijing, September 19 – The State Council of China has released a white paper titled “Successful Practices of the Communist Party of China’s Strategy for Governing Xinjiang in the New Era.”

The document, apart from its introduction and conclusion, is divided into ten sections. These cover: the central government’s historical understanding and experience in governing Xinjiang; the CPC’s glorious history in governing the region; the Party’s strategy for Xinjiang in the new era to foster new circumstances; laying a stronger foundation for social stability and lasting peace; advancing the building of a unified Chinese nation; continuous progress in democracy and the rule of law; coordinated advancement of high-quality development and high-level opening-up; remarkable achievements in cultural development; steady improvements in people’s livelihoods; and the growing strength of collective efforts to build Xinjiang.

The white paper emphasizes that, in the new era, the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core has examined, planned, and advanced work in Xinjiang from a comprehensive and strategic perspective—focused on building a strong nation and achieving national rejuvenation. It highlights the Party’s consistent efforts to deepen understanding of governing Xinjiang by law, to uphold the overarching goal of maintaining social stability and lasting peace, and to establish a clear strategy for governing the region in the new era.

This year also marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. According to the white paper, under the leadership of the CPC in the new era, Xinjiang will embrace even greater opportunities for development and promises a more prosperous future.
