On Wednesday, September 17, the world premiere of the film 731 was held in Harbin, the capital of China’s Heilongjiang Province.
The film is based on the atrocities committed in Harbin by Japan’s notorious Unit 731 during World War II. The unit was infamous for its bacteriological warfare experiments and brutal war crimes.
731 was released nationwide across China last Thursday. Its screening coincides with the 94th anniversary of the “September 18 Incident,” which marked the beginning of the Chinese people’s resistance against Japanese aggression.
