Mohsen Rezaei, former head of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and a member of the Expediency Discernment Council, has warned that regional countries including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Iraq are facing the threat of Israeli aggression.
In a message posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, Rezaei emphasized that if these countries fail to form a joint military alliance against the Palestinian genocide and Israeli aggression, they could soon become targets of Israeli airstrikes and bombings. He added that the upcoming Islamic-Arab summit in Doha should address this issue seriously.
Rezaei stated, “If the summit fails to take effective action, the governments of Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Iraq must also be prepared for potential bombings. It is urgent to establish a military coalition before Israel targets countries one after another.”
His remarks followed an article in the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, which warned that after Qatar, Israel might launch military operations against Turkey. Analysts cited in the article noted that any conflict with Ankara would be far more dangerous than operations targeting Doha.
Meanwhile, The Times of Israel reported that Tel Aviv previously postponed a potential operation in Turkey due to NATO considerations and instead chose Qatar as a target.
Iran’s top security official Ali Larijani echoed Rezaei’s concerns, urging Muslim countries to establish a joint military command to prevent Israeli attacks against Palestinians.
