Bangladesh Consul General Pays Courtesy Call on Hong Kong Chief Executive, Discusses Bilateral Cooperation

Hong Kong, July 22, 2025 — Dr. Shah Mohammad Tanvir Monsur, Consul General of Bangladesh in Hong Kong, paid a courtesy visit to Hon’ble John Lee, the Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR, at his office today. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Hong Kong, with discussions centered around enhancing cooperation in trade and commerce, people-to-people contacts, cultural exchanges, ICT, and innovation.

During the visit, the Chief Executive expressed his deepest condolences over the recent tragic plane crash incident at the campus of Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka, conveying heartfelt sympathies to the families affected.

In a gesture of fostering closer ties, the Consul General presented the Chief Executive with two books authored by the Honorable Chief Adviser of Bangladesh, Professor Muhammad Yunus. The books aim to promote mutual understanding and highlight Bangladesh’s ongoing development initiatives.

Both officials reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation and exploring new avenues for collaboration that benefit both nations
