High-Level Talks to Strengthen China–Bangladesh Relations Ahead of Prime Minister’s Visit

On Monday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun held a regular press briefing, during which he provided journalists with details regarding the preparations and arrangements for the upcoming official visit of Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to China.

The spokesperson stated that during the visit, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to hold separate meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhao Leji. The leaders are expected to engage in in-depth discussions on the development of bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest, which are likely to shape the future trajectory of China–Bangladesh relations. In addition, the Bangladeshi prime minister will attend the 17th Summer Davos Forum in the city of Dalian.

He further noted that China and Bangladesh are traditional close and friendly neighbors as well as comprehensive strategic cooperative partners. In recent years, under the strategic guidance of the leadership of both countries, China–Bangladesh relations have continued to advance steadily. This has led to deeper mutual political trust and fruitful outcomes in practical cooperation across various fields, bringing tangible benefits and shared prosperity to the peoples of both nations.
