Ambassador Jonathan Tow, Chief of International Affairs of Bhutan’s Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC), paid a courtesy call on the Hon’ble State Minister for Foreign Affairs at Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs today.
During the meeting, Ambassador Tow briefed the State Minister on the Gelephu Mindfulness City initiative, which reflects the vision of His Majesty the King of Bhutan to establish an oasis of mindfulness and prosperity under the concept of “One Country, Two Systems.” The project aims to create a vibrant and sustainable economic hub through a business-friendly environment and attractive incentives for global investors and partners.
The State Minister highly appreciated the visionary leadership of His Majesty the King of Bhutan and praised the holistic and forward-looking approach behind the development of the GMC initiative.
Expressing Bangladesh’s strong interest in participating in the ambitious project, the State Minister highlighted the potential for closer collaboration between the two countries. Both sides discussed possible areas of cooperation with the GMC, including employment opportunities for skilled Bangladeshi professionals and potential investment prospects within the city.
The two sides agreed to continue discussions and explore concrete modalities for Bangladesh’s future engagement with the Gelephu Mindfulness City project.
