Three Journalists Killed in Airstrike on Media Vehicle in Southern Lebanon

Three journalists were killed in an airstrike targeting a vehicle carrying media personnel in southern Lebanon, raising renewed concerns over the safety of journalists in conflict zones and the ethical boundaries of warfare.

The occurred on Saturday along a highway in the Jezzine area, where the সাংবাদিকরা were reportedly on assignment covering developments in the region.

The have been identified as Ali Shoaib, a correspondent for Al-Manar TV; Fatima Ftouni, a journalist with Al-Mayadeen; and her brother, video journalist Mohammad Ftouni. Local sources confirmed that they were performing their professional duties at the time of the strike.

The Israeli military stated that the operation specifically targeted Ali Shoaib, alleging that he had links with Hezbollah’s Radwan Force and was involved in intelligence exchanges. However, no evidence has been presented to substantiate these claims.

Hezbollah has firmly rejected the allegations, describing them as an attempt to deflect responsibility for the attack on journalists.

Lebanese officials have strongly condemned the incident. President Joseph Aoun described the strike as a serious violation of international law, emphasizing that journalists must be protected as civilians in conflict zones under international obligations.

Analysts warn that the incident could further escalate regional tensions while intensifying global concerns over the safety and protection of media workers in war zones.
