Several countries have recently accused the United States and Israel of violating international law through their military operations against Iran.
Croatian President Zoran Milanović said in a statement on Monday that actions violating international law and order or the unilateral use of force are dangerous. He noted that the U.S. military strike on Iran lacked authorization from the United Nations and would not contribute to resolving the crisis—instead, it risks further escalating the conflict.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot stated on Monday that France did not participate in the U.S. and Israeli military actions. Such operations can only be considered legitimate with approval from the UN Security Council, he emphasized. Barrot also warned that U.S. and Israeli strikes could trigger a vicious cycle, pushing Iran and the broader region toward long-term instability.
Brazilian presidential adviser Celso Amorim on Monday strongly condemned the killing of foreign leaders, saying the United States has no right to act as the “judge of the world.”
