7 Israeli soldiers killed in explosion in southern Gaza

At least seven Israeli soldiers were killed in an explosion on Tuesday (June 24) in ongoing clashes with the Israeli army in the southern Gaza Strip.

The Jerusalem Post reported that the incident took place in the southern Gaza city of Khan Yunis. The Israeli army has released the names of six soldiers killed in the incident. However, the name of the seventh soldier is being withheld as his family has not yet been contacted. At the same time, another soldier from the 605th Combat Engineering Battalion was seriously injured in a separate incident in another area of ​​Gaza, the Israeli military said.

Earlier this year, in January 2024, at least 24 Israeli soldiers were killed in a single day in Gaza. The Israeli army is facing fierce resistance in the ongoing conflict in Gaza, with deadly incidents reported, particularly as Hamas and other armed groups are destroying facilities and exposing tunnels.
