At least 27 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli fire as they collected aid near a distribution point in Gaza, local officials said.
Mahmoud Bassal, a spokesman for the Hamas-run Civil Defense Agency in Gaza, said tanks, quadcopter drones and helicopters opened fire on civilians near the al-Alam roundabout, about 1km (0.6 miles) from the aid site.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said its troops opened fire after spotting suspects who had strayed from designated entry points.
Israel had previously denied shooting at Palestinians in a similar incident on Sunday, with the Hamas-run Health Ministry saying 31 people had been killed and nearly 200 wounded.
