The Yau Tsim Mong Federation of Associations (YTMFA) held a grand ceremony on Saturday, September 13, at the Tsim Sha Tsui District Community Hall to celebrate a double milestone: the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 28th anniversary of the federation’s community service outreach. Nearly 400 guests, including national and local lawmakers, district leaders, care-team members, community leaders, and federation members and staff, joined to celebrate together and honor the occasion.
Since its establishment in 1997, the federation has upheld the mission of “Unite the community, serve livelihoods, love China, love Hong Kong.” It has grown into a major district-level organization with 15 affiliates and more than 60,000 members. It has long promoted community harmony and development through a wide range of cultural, recreational, and district services.

In his remarks, Chairman Wong stated that the federation grows together with the SAR, serving as both a witness to history and an active participant in nation-building. Looking ahead, the federation will focus on three main directions: deepening community networks, building bridges between the government and the people, and nurturing a next generation for the country, while continuing to support SAR governance and contributing to Hong Kong’s prosperity and stability.
Deputy Secretary Hu Jianmin emphasized the country’s remarkable achievements, noting their contribution to global economic growth and peace and stability. Hong Kong ranks highly in many world standings, illustrating its competitiveness and adaptability. Looking forward, with the support of “one country, two systems” and backing from the motherland, Hong Kong can overcome challenges and achieve greater prosperity together.
Chairman Lo Ka-chung closed by thanking guests, members, and volunteers for their long-standing support and dedication, which made the double-celebration event a success. He reaffirmed the federation’s commitment to serving the community, building a more inclusive and vibrant Yau Tsim Mong, and jointly witnessing national prosperity and regional development.
