United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called on the international community to do more to tackle the consequences of climate change, highlighting the need for urgent and unified action.
Speaking at a press briefing at the UN Headquarters, UN Deputy Spokesperson Farhan Haq stated that Guterres expressed satisfaction with China’s achievements in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting environmentally friendly technologies, noting that these efforts could serve as a model for other countries.
Guterres is currently attending a high-level climate summit in Brazil. According to Haq, in his address at the summit, the Secretary-General urged world leaders to take immediate and decisive steps and to pursue collective efforts to combat climate change effectively.
