UAP’s ICPHS 2024 Conference Highlights Global Collaboration for Sustainable Healthcare

The International Conference on Pharmaceutical and Health Sciences (ICPHS) 2024 kicked off at the University of Asia Pacific (UAP) on December 6, bringing together experts from around the globe to discuss “Advancements in Pharmaceutical and Health Sciences for Sustainable Development.”

The two-day conference, organized by UAP’s Department of Pharmacy in partnership with Universitas Sumatera Utara, Indonesia, and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, is a significant event aimed at fostering international collaboration in healthcare and pharmaceutical research.
In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, Chairman of the conference, underscored the importance of dialogue among global experts to address emerging challenges in health and pharmaceuticals. Architect Mahbuba Haque, Chairman of UAP’s Board of Trustees, echoed the sentiment of collaboration and cooperation.
Md. Saidur Rahman, Chief Guest and Secretary of the Health Services Division, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, emphasized the need for innovation in healthcare to achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
The conference features speakers from Japan, USA, China, UK, Malaysia, Pakistan, Nepal, Indonesia, Philippines, and Bangladesh, with plenary sessions covering critical topics such as pharmaceutics, biotechnology, oncology, epidemiology, and pharmacy education. The event provides a unique opportunity for professionals and academics to exchange ideas and explore potential collaborations.
Prof. Dr. Qumrul Ahsan, Vice Chancellor of UAP, emphasized the significance of international collaboration in advancing healthcare and thanked every organizing member for their efforts in making the event a success.
The conference was graced by an esteemed gathering of prominent figures: Md. Nasser Shahrear Zahedee, Member, PCB; Prof. Dr. Md. Selim Reza, Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, Dhaka University; Dr. Samina Ahmed, Chairman, BCSIR and Muhammad Mahbubul Haq, Secretary, PCB; Prof. Dr.Irin Dewan, Head, Department of Pharmacy, UAP; Dr. Shihab Uddin Ahmed, Secretary, ICPHS 2024.
ICPHS 2024 will wrap up on December 7, with an awards ceremony recognizing the best presenters, followed by a gala dinner at Hotel InterContinental Dhaka. The conference marks a milestone for UAP in promoting cutting-edge pharmaceutical research and strengthening global academic ties in the healthcare field.
