Turkish President Erdogan Urges Stronger, Unified Global Action Against Israel

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has called on the international community to take a stronger and more coordinated diplomatic stance against Israel. He said that if the world enforces firm and sustained sanctions in response to the ongoing situation in Gaza, it would be possible to restrain Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Speaking to reporters on his way back from the G-20 Leaders’ Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, President Erdoğan stressed the urgent need to ensure unhindered access for humanitarian aid into Gaza, along with the full implementation of a comprehensive ceasefire.

Erdoğan noted that despite repeated provocations from Israel, Hamas has continued to uphold the ceasefire with patience. “It is essential for this ceasefire to be fully enforced,” he said.

He further stated that if Turkey’s national security comes under threat, Ankara will not hesitate to take decisive action, as it has done in the past. “There can be no compromise on our security,” he emphasized.

On the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Erdoğan reaffirmed Turkey’s willingness to resume its mediating role in Istanbul to help restore peace. Regarding US President Donald Trump’s 28-point peace proposal, he said that an agreement would be possible if the plan meets the legitimate expectations of both parties.
