Trump is returning to the White House, wants to do 7 things

Four years after leaving the White House, there is only one person at the center of the world’s attention in an incredible comeback – Donald Trump. Some are calling it the most dramatic comeback in US political history. On Tuesday (05 November) millions of Americans voted for Trump again as the President of the United States.

He made various promises during the campaign before winning. These included the economy, immigration and the Ukraine-Russia war. Trump’s Republican Party also got the majority in the United States Senate through this election. It will be easier for him to fulfill his goals. Let’s take a look at the seven things that Trump wants to do as the new president-

Turning back illegal immigrants: A theme Trump has repeatedly said on the campaign trail. He will deport the largest number of illegal immigrants in US history. Apart from this, he also promised to complete the construction of the wall on the border with Mexico. He started the construction of this wall during his first term. However, experts see Trump’s view of illegal immigrants with a slightly skewed eye. They told the BBC that to implement the amount of immigrants Trump is talking about, there will be huge legal and logistical challenges. It may also slow down the US economy. Trump has declared himself a staunch supporter of Israel in the Gaza war in Palestine.

Focus on the economy: Polls in the immediate aftermath of the election showed that one of the top issues for voters was the U.S. economy. Trump has already promised to stop inflation. Consumer prices hit record highs under current President Joe Biden. Trump has also promised to cut taxes. Want to impose a new tariff of at least 10 percent on foreign goods to reduce the trade deficit. And they want to increase the duty on goods imported from China by an additional 60 percent. Experts say that this may increase the price of the product.

Climate policy cuts: After becoming president in 2016, Trump repealed several environmental protection laws. The United States was the first country to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement. This time again, Trump has promised to cut climate policy. Through this, Trump aims to help the US auto industry. He is against electric cars. In addition, Trump has also promised to increase the extraction of fossil fuels in the United States. Trump once said he would fire Jack Smith “within two seconds” of being in the White House.

Ukraine War Stopped: The US is giving Ukraine hundreds of billions of dollars to continue its war against Russia. Donald Trump has always criticized it. He has promised to end this war within 24 hours through reconciliation if he comes to power. However, Trump has declared himself a staunch supporter of Israel in the Gaza war in Palestine. He also called on the Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s government to stop this war. Trump is also in favor of stopping the war in Lebanon.

Abortion Rights Repeal Trump said during a campaign debate with Kamala Harris that he would not sign abortion rights legislation if he came to office, despite the wishes of some of his supporters. In 2022, the US Supreme Court struck down the constitutional right to abortion. Most of the conservative judges of the court were in favor of that verdict.

Pardoning the January 6 rioters: Trump was defeated by incumbent President Joe Biden in the 2020 election. But he did not accept that defeat. On January 6, 2021, Trump supporters attacked the Capitol building in Washington DC to change the election results. Some people died. Trump was accused of inciting supporters to riot. Trump said hundreds of his supporters were being held as political prisoners on riot charges. Many of them have been imprisoned for no reason. He will ‘liberate’ some of them when he comes to power.

Special Counsel Jack Smith Fired: US Attorney Jack Smith is investigating two criminal cases against Trump. Trump was charged with inciting riots at the Capitol on January 6 and moving classified government documents. However, he denied these allegations. Trump once said he would fire Jack Smith “within two seconds” of being in the White House. Trump has finally returned to power. It is again charged with criminal offences. Now let’s see what he does.
