The war could spread far beyond the Middle East: Iran

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned that Israel’s ongoing war with Tehran-backed groups in Gaza and Lebanon could spread far beyond the Middle East. He gave this warning in a speech broadcast on Iran’s state television on Saturday.

Aragchi said the damaging effects of the spread of war would not be limited to the West Asian region; Rather, insecurity and instability may spread to other regions. It can have an impact even far away; What the world should know.

In October last year, the Palestinian independence group Hamas killed more than 1,200 people by entering the northern part of Israel. Israel, Iran’s arch-enemy in the Middle East, started a war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip on the same day.

However, Israel has recently diverted its military forces from the Gaza war to Lebanon. Israel has launched a full-scale war against the Iran-backed armed group Hezbollah in Lebanon since last September.

Iran launched an unprecedented attack on Israel on October 1 after an Iranian Revolutionary Guard general was killed in an Israeli attack on Lebanon. On that day, the Iranian military fired more than two hundred rockets and missiles into Israeli territory. In response to this attack, on October 26, Israeli forces targeted various Iranian military installations.

Iranian government officials said the Israeli strike on October 26 killed four members of the Iranian military and caused limited damage to its radar system. Iranian media also reported the death of a civilian in the Israeli attack.

The US and Israel have warned Iran not to retaliate, but Tehran has warned of a tough response. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said a possible cease-fire in Gaza and Lebanon could influence Iran’s response.

Earlier this month he said, “If they (the Israelis)… If a ceasefire is accepted and the massacre of oppressed and innocent people in the region is stopped, it may affect the scale and nature of our response.”

An adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned Israel of a tough response on Thursday. Ali Larijani said in an interview with the state-owned television that Israel’s goal is to drag out the conflict in Iran. To avoid this trap we must act wisely and not react instinctively.
