Hong Kong, August 29, 2025 — Talk Hope, in collaboration with the Dr. Muhammad Fakhrul Islam Foundation, organized a workshop titled “Active Listening & Crisis Support” at the Faith Bangladesh Auditorium in Dhaka. The event ran from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM and aimed to enhance volunteers’ capacity in crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and mental health support.
Six trainers led the sessions:

Participants engaged in activities that included role-plays, decision-making drills, and reflection circles. The program addressed topics such as confidentiality, suicidal risk assessment, and volunteer self-care, with trainers offering practical strategies for use during helpline calls.
In the closing session, Md Saddam Hossain Roni spoke about the organization’s broader plans, noting, “We are preparing the foundation for something bigger. Very soon, Talk Hope will launch a 24/7 free call center dedicated to suicide prevention and mental health support. We also plan to expand our services to support children with special needs.”
Chanda Mahjabeen commented on Talk Hope’s work, saying, “Talk Hope is doing remarkable work in creating a culture of listening and compassion. I am committed to supporting this cause so that the initiative can reach more people in need.”
Rowshan Ara Zaman added that mental health requires collaborative efforts and that her team would offer free counseling services to support Talk Hope’s callers in crisis.
The program concluded with certificate distributions and a reaffirmed commitment from volunteers to continue supporting Talk Hope’s mission of providing crisis support and resilience-building in communities.
