Khulna, The Dr. Muhammad Fakhrul Islam Foundation successfully organized a Talk Hope for Life mental health awareness and suicide prevention program at Batiaghata Thana Headquarters Pilot Model High School, aiming to promote emotional well-being among students and educators.

The event was supported by SHADOW (Society for Humanity And Development Over the World), while Talk Hope for Life continues its nationwide mission to foster open conversations, reduce stigma, and encourage early help-seeking behavior related to mental health.
The interactive session focused on understanding emotional well-being, recognizing early warning signs of psychological distress, and addressing suicide prevention through empathy, communication, and community support. Students actively participated in discussions, creating an open, safe, and supportive learning environment.
A senior teacher of the school, speaking on behalf of the institution, welcomed the initiative and said,
“Mental health education is often overlooked in academic settings. Programs like Talk Hope for Life help our students understand that seeking help is a strength, not a weakness. We are grateful that such an important session was held at our school.”
Dr. Muhammad Fakhrul Islam Babu, Chairperson of the Dr. Muhammad Fakhrul Islam Foundation, emphasized the collective responsibility of institutions and society in safeguarding young minds.
“Our youth face immense academic, social, and emotional pressure. If we do not talk about mental health openly, we risk losing lives in silence. Through Talk Hope for Life, we are committed to reaching schools across the country to build awareness, resilience, and hope,” he stated.
Md Saddam Hossain Roni, Secretary General of the Foundation, highlighted the importance of early intervention and compassionate communication.
“Suicide prevention starts with listening and understanding. When students learn that their emotions matter and that support is available, it can save lives. Our goal is to make mental health conversations normal, accessible, and compassionate,” he said.
Students and teachers alike appreciated the session, noting that it addressed a sensitive yet critical issue often neglected in traditional education. The organizers reaffirmed that Talk Hope for Life will continue its awareness programs across Bangladesh, working with schools, communities, and youth organizations to promote mental well-being and suicide prevention nationwide.
