North Korea will stand by Russia against West: Kim

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said that North Korea will stand by Russia against the West. He said Pyongyang would stand by Moscow in defending Russia’s national sovereignty against the West.

Kim made the comments during a meeting with Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belusov, who arrived in Pyongyang on Friday (Nov 29) to discuss defense cooperation between the two countries.

Relations between Russia and North Korea are currently reaching new heights. Recently they signed the Comprehensive Strategic Military Partnership Agreement. According to the agreement, one side is attacked but the other side will provide military and other assistance by all means without delay.

According to North Korean state media KCNA, Kim condemned recent “reckless military manipulation” by the West and Ukraine, while praising growing cooperation with Russia. He also brought up Kiev’s recent offensive deep into Russia using foreign-made long-range weapons.

North Korea’s leader said Russia’s move to use long-range weapons deep inside was a ‘direct military intervention in the conflict’. Russia has the right to self-defense. Strong steps should be taken to force the enemy to pay the price.

He said North Korea will always support the policy of the Russian Federation to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity from imperialist hegemonic actions.
