North Korea test-fired new hypersonic ballistic missile

North Korea has launched a new hypersonic ballistic missile (IRBM). It was tested on Monday. During this time, the country’s leader Kim Jong Un oversaw the successful test of the missile.

State media KCNA reported this information on Tuesday.

According to KCNA, during the test supervision, Un promised to accelerate North Korea’s nuclear and missile capabilities.

This was North Korea’s first missile launch since November 5 last year. The launch comes as US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken is on a visit to South Korea.

The missile was launched from the outskirts of Pyongyang and flew about 1,500 kilometers at 12 times the speed of sound, KCNA reported. It successfully hit a target on the east coast of the country. New carbon fiber composite materials are used in the engine section of the missile.
